Heavy rains in the southern and western departments of Choluteca, in southern Honduras have caused flooding. The departments of Valle, Lempira, La Paz, Intibucá, Santa Bárbara, Copán and Ocotepeque are also affected by the flooding with alerts raised for further heavy rains. The National Permanent Commission of Emergencies (COPECO) first reported the overflowing of rivers on 10 June when 68 mm of rain fell in just 6 hours, affecting 554 people in total. COPECO continues to deliver humanitarian aid.
