Flash flood and landslide warnings were issued by the Emergency Operations Center (COE) after torrential rain swelled rivers in several areas displacing almost 3000 people.Local infrastructure, including a bridge and roads have been washed away cutting off up to 30 communities. Reports estimate over 500 homes have been damaged as the Ozama River in the Monte Plata province burst its banks forcing families to be evacuated from their homes.Local weather reports are forecasting further heavy to moderate downpours across the Dominican Republic.
