Heavy rains caused severe flooding in Uruguay's Salto, Paysandú and Artigas regions, displacing 3500 people. Uruguay's National Emergency System (SINAE) is assessing the damage to prepare relief efforts. Northern parts of Uruguay have been under a heavy rain warning since May 24, and authorities expect further rain with flood waters set to continue rising.
