Unlock the power of Planet’s one-of-a-kind dataset.
Get Access. Make Discoveries.
Let our data power your next breakthrough. We’re looking for innovative academics, researchers, scientists and nonprofit organizations to become a Planet Ambassador, and incorporate frequent, high resolution imagery into your next project. Over a six month period, Ambassadors gain access to our growing imagery archive within an area of geographic interest. Dig into the data, analyze new findings, and publish your results.
"We require high-frequency, high-resolution imagery to track urgent threats, such as gold mining into protected areas and oil palm into primary forests. Having access to Planet imagery via the Ambassador's program has revolutionized our methodology by providing us with a constant fresh supply of 3-meter resolution imagery across our vast study area. We can even set up alerts for key areas and get an email as soon a new image is available for that area"
- Matt Finer, Research Specialist, Amazon Conservation Association
"The Planet approach for ultra high-frequency, high-resolution monitoring is taking Earth science to a completely new level. For example, Planet imagery allows us to map rapid changes in California’s forest cover and health, which greatly improves our ecological models and forecasts."
- Greg Asner, Airborne Ecologist, Carnegie Institution for Science
"While astronomers have been looking up, observing the sphere of the sky, orbiting satellites have been pointed downward, attempting to image the sphere of Planet Earth. Interestingly, these two groups of people share many tasks and challenges. They just happen to look in opposite directions."
- Brice Ménard, Astrophysicist, Johns Hopkins University
