Call For Submissions: Planet’s See Change, Change the World Challenge Opens April 1st!

News

Planet thoroughly enjoyed participating for the first time in the 2018 Copernicus Masters competition. We were exposed to so many interesting ideas from innovative leaders and startups leveraging Earth observation data to solve important commercial and social problems.

We announced 20tree.ai as the winners of our Planet Daily Change Challenge and it’s been great following their journey as they build a meaningful forest monitoring solution and connect with new customers and markets.

We’re thrilled to again be participating in the competition and announce our “See Change, Change the World” challenge. This year, we’re focusing on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, seventeen global goals which guide the world’s sustainable development efforts through 2030.

Planet is strongly committed to the Sustainable Development Goals, and we’re searching for solutions that combine Planet satellite imagery with additional data sources to develop solutions that will help us reach these collective goals. All submissions will be evaluated against a number of criteria and should have a strong technical underpinning, and feasible and achievable.

With help from Planet, the winner of the challenge will then finalize the solution and bring it to market, receiving six months of free access to Planet’s Data, business and technical support, and a trip to Planet’s customer conference!

Registration opens on Monday, April 1, 2019. Head over to our Challenge page to find more details and register.
