Submit Your Application to the Copernicus Masters ‘See Change, Change the World’ Challenge

News

The Copernicus Masters is Europe’s leading innovation competition for Earth observation, and Planet is partnering with it for the third time to sponsor the “See Change, Change the World” challenge. The 2020 competition is now open for submissions and is looking for outstanding applications, solutions and services from small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, universities and individuals looking to tackle environmental challenges with a sound business model and Planet data.

Planet’s mission is to make global change visible, accessible and actionable. It aligns with the Copernicus Programme, European Green Deal and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Our challenge this year focuses on two main areas that are related to that: sustainable food systems (both in agriculture and maritime) and biodiversity.

The ideas will be evaluated by experts against criteria such as climate and environmental impact, innovation, commercial viability and how Planet data combined with Copernicus data creates added value.

The winner of Planet’s challenge will get substantial support for accelerating their business: a free, high-cadence, VHR data package worth €125,000, technical and business support, as well as an exciting trip to San Francisco for Planet’s Explore Conference.

Last years’ submissions to the “See Change, Change the World” Challenge impressed our experts, and it is thrilling to observe the successful technological and business development journeys of our past winners, 20tree.ai and Green City Watch.

Interested? Registration is now open and closes June 30, 2020. Visit the Copernicus Masters page to find out more and start the application.
