Data-driven Program For The Norwegian Arctic Council

The Arctic and its adjacent Boreal Zone above the 60th parallel represent a critical area for life on Earth that is both vast and vulnerable. Near-daily, high-resolution imagery from Planet is an essential tool in supporting the protection and restoration of the Arctic and the Boreal zones. Planet’s near-daily data compliments the publicly available sources—especially the ones of the Copernicus program—with imagery of higher spatial and temporal resolution to ensure the effective mointoring of these critical environments.
HIGH-FREQUENCY, COUNTRYWIDE DATA

Planet can provide countrywide, intradaily coverage, which can reduce the need for aircraft or individual resources.

SCALABLE

Planet’s cloud-first APIs allow you to build applications quickly that scale across Norway's various departments.

EASE OF USE

View and download imagery directly in your browser, or integrate with your existing GIS tools.

Supporting Arctic Monitoring  Efforts

The Norwegian Chairmanship of the Arctic Council has the opportunity to greatly impact the knowledge and understanding of the Arctic by unlocking the potential of Earth observation and Artificial Intelligence across the entire region. Planet's daily data and analytics provide scalable solutions for addressing the changing face of wildland fire in the Arctic.

Arctic Monitoring

Planet is able to track soil moisture content across broad areas to help government officials understand what’s normal and abnormal for a specific region, allowing for better insights into arctic conditions.
